Origin Story
Anything can happen on the San Francisco waterfront. Mostly bad things.
But sometimes the risk is worth it. Like the day I was down by the water and my friend Digital Dan showed me a pound of some as-of-yet unnamed nasty, magenta, Asian candy fire.
I was smitten, so I bought that pound.
Did I overpay? Maybe. But all it took was a single look at that sticky mass and I knew it was something special. So, on a rare sunny Sunday in San Francisco I took that beautiful pound to the back deck, rolled down the sides of the turkey bag, and plopped it on top of a copy of the day’s newspaper. It was picture perfect.
I posted the photo on social media and didn’t give it another thought. Then the comments came flooding in from people who wanted to buy “that Sunday paper.”
They knew I had something special with that pound too. So, I tracked down the cut, started growing it, and the name Sunday Paper stuck.
